About Me

Welcome and thanks for dropping by!

My name is Zee and I was born, and have been living, in Singapore the last three decades. I have been blogging for a couple of years now but decided to start this blog when my baby girl came into our lives in November 2011. Our lives have been turned upside down since her arrival and my home looks like a war zone half the time. I haven’t had a good night’s rest since Aly was born and I am resigned to the fact that i should kiss goodbye to restful sleep forever. Having said all that, her arrival is one of the best things that has happened to me and she has brought more joy to my life than I could ever ask for.

Through this blog, I hope to share my experiences of parenting (both good and bad), my thoughts on marriage and motherhood (which has been truly humbling and amazing), as well as other parenting tips I have discovered during this journey. Being one of the first among my friends to have a baby, I struggled with the lack of information and support and found many mummy blogs which provided me with useful tips and information. I only hope that my blog may be as useful, and some of my posts will serve as a source of inspiration, for other mums, especially for first time mums or mums to be.

But since this blog was started because of Aly, expect an overdose of her pictures and videos, which are really meant for me and ys to chart her developments. And of course (since life shouldn’t be all about the baby) on good days, I celebrate life, food and shopping and on bad days, rant about sleep deprivation and woes of a full time working mum (amongst other things).

I also have a new found love – photography. I love how every picture captures and immortalizes a moment, and tells a story. I only hope that the readers of this blog can share my story through all the pictures on this blog.

Do drop me a line at anuggetofjoy[at]gmail[dot]com if you have something to share, a question to ask or simply to say hello.

  1. Hi there, Aly is the same age as G! Looking forward to your blog posts. Motherhood is an amazing journey, and quality of sleep does improve after a while (maybe after 5 years?) haha. Enjoy!
